Since our childhood, we are always told or suggested things by our family, friends, school, and relatives. We always try to live by the book and always force ourselves to fit in. With all the people doing different things around us its easy to believe that we need to do the same to achieve happiness and self-esteem. But forget how we are just existing to fit in with everyone and missing to appreciate and valuing ourselves.
For the past few years, I started practicing self-affirmation and it has completely changed my outlook towards myself. A few years back when I was in college I used to write a journal about my daily thoughts and events. I wrote some self- affirmations in my journal which to this day helps me boost my self-confidence and keep me motivated.
Some daily affirmations which will always help you go in your day with a lot of positivity and confidence. Always say this to yourself and see the changes it brings to you and everyone around you.
- I love and accept myself
I love myself the way I am and nobody knows me better but myself. We should always accept who we are and be loving to ourselves. Unless we know and accept ourselves we can never love or spread the love with others.
- My thoughts and feelings matter
My feelings and thoughts matter to me and I have every right to feel good or bad about a situation. I may like or not like everyone or everything but want to do something for myself and I will do it. If I don’t feel like doing something today that’s fine.
- I am intelligent, capable and funny
I am intelligent enough to know what my capabilities are. I am confident and know what I am good at and I will practice my skills every day to become a better version of myself.
- I love my body and am beautiful
I love the way I look and love the shape of my body. I am a human being and every human body changes over time. At every age, I will look and feel different and I will love that about me and my body.
- I am grateful for my loved ones
We should always be grateful for our family and friends and also the love we get from them. We need just a few people to encourage and believe in us.
- I am not perfect and that’s ok
I am not perfect and that’s fine. Not everybody is perfect in everything, we can be messy sometimes or may not be knowing everything. I am perfect the way I am.
- I am allowed to take up space
I deserve to have my space and be respected for that. I need space for myself, my thoughts, feelings and perspective. My thoughts and opinions are mine and I can stretch them out or keep to myself.
- My life is a blessing
My life is a blessing and I value it more than anything. It is beautiful and I am thankful and grateful for this life. I should always take good care of myself. And even in any difficult moment, my life is still beautiful as I accept it, learn from it and continue with it.
I write these in a diary and read it at the end of my 10 minutes meditation. You can write these on a piece of paper and hang it on my fridge or next to your table. These daily affirmations remind me not to forget these beautiful things about myself and my life. Say this to yourself more often cause you need to say this to yourself more than anyone. We only need our affirmation more than anyone else in this world to achieve our specific goals in life.
