Best Netflix Series From 2018

Since we all are mostly staying home because of the current COVID-19 situation, i thought i should watch some of my favorite Netflix shows again from the year 2018. Well i had the Netflix account from 2016 but i seriously started watching it when i moved to the US in 2018.

It”s the best way of passing your time when you at home and also have a collection of so many web series and movies to watch. I love watching movies but also like to invest my time in web series as they have a different feel to it. I feel they are more relatable to some extent even if they are fictionalized. They feel real and solid and to hold your attention they need to have an amazing content.

When i started watching Netflix in 2018 there were few series that i really would like to go back and watch them again. So here are some best Netflix series which you can give a try if you like.

Stranger things is an American science fiction thriller web series. The first ever episode of stranger things was aired in 2016 but since i started watching Netflix in 2018 i instantly got hooked to this show. It is created by duffer brothers and released on Netflix. I really like thriller movies and shows and stranger things is on top of its game. I really could relate as it depicts the kids growing in 1980’s and 90’s and as i grew up in those years i really like the backdrop and settings of that time in this show. Also you will be asking for more after each episode as its mysterious, dramatic, thrilling, creepy and really knows how to hold your heart and mind. This one will keep you on the edge of your seat if you watching it for the first time.

Dark is a german science fiction web series which is a killer on Netflix. A lot of people compare this show to Stranger things as they both have some similarities of the missing kids in a small town. But i think they both are very different in terms of plot and characters. This show is more about time travel and paradoxes. Dark starts of slow but as it progresses it really gets interesting with all the mysteries and puzzles around it. This show is just pure yet shocking. It is not something you have watched before. I cant emphasize enough as to how amazing this show is and cant be missed. This show is a masterpiece and will blow your mind. I watched its second season and can say this is the best mystery thrillers on Netflix.

Wild wild country is a Netflix documentary series about the Indian guru and founder of the Rajneesh movement Osho Rajneesh also called as Bhagwan (God). This series is really fascinating with so many twists and turns. I watched this whole series in one go and could relate to this documentary as studying in Pune where Osho’s main commune is i read some of his books and also tried some of his meditations. I really liked his discourses and saw many people following him as his disciples but, i never really knew much about his personal life. This documentary cleared many facts on why Osho was said to be a controversial religious leader. Also this documentary gives you details which were unknown to many in her own words of his then personal assistant Ma Anand Sheela. I can say this is one of the best docu- series on Netflix and cant be missed.

This is first Indian Netflix web series which is ased on a novel “Sacred Games” by Vikram Chandra. This series has changed the tv game in India. It is bold, ambitious, dark, thrilling, and mysterious. All the actors have done justice to their characters and the story is great. It is not an ordinary cop and gangster story as you see in normal Indian movies. If you not an Indian it might get a bit confusing at first but with the flow and subtitles you’ll definitely catch up with it. I have to say this is one of the most gripping and exciting show that opened the eyes of Indian television.

Yeh Meri Family ( This is my family) is an Indian comedy drama web series. This one is so special to me or any kid who grew up in India in the 90’s. This was an emotional ride for me as i too did all that was shown in this series while growing up. The story is about the central character of this show Harshu who just entered his teens and his challenges of family, studies, friendships, parents, career etc. This show will make you laugh, smile, cry, and leave a very satisfying feeling. This show was just perfect in every way. Be it the actors, emotions, plot, backdrop, things, school, friends etc. This is a sweet series which can be watched with your entire family and you would really relate to it if you were a kid or a parent in India in the 90’s.

So these are my favorite Netflix series from the year 2018. I cant really say any one to be my most favorite but since all are different in their own ways so i like them all. Also depends what kind of content you like when you watch a series but these are some best out there and can be given a try if you haven’t already watched it. There are many you can watch in many genres but these are the ones i like the most and would watch again in this stay home challenge.

I have already discussed some quarantine tips in one of my blog posts this can also be an addition to it if you want to spend some lenient time watching tv.

Yes, I’ve seen the trailers, “Dark” & “Stranger Things” did look quite similar. Which one if better you think?

I like both but you can start with stranger things and then watch dark. I liked Dark more if you ask me but I first watched ST.
